Fundamental Reason to Vote NO

[reprinted with permission of the author from the NextDoor post here]

Lost in all the arguing about details of the storm drain tax is this:

  • The town says it needs money for storm drains, and the money must be from new taxes.

  • The town ignores millions in existing taxes and sources of revenue, and how that money is spent.

  • There has been no attempt or effort to look to these existing sources of revenue, nor to prioritize spending in favor of necessities rather than discretionary items.

That is the bottom line. And that alone should be reason enough for residents to vote NO.
